Chicle -Manakara zapata
An evergreen tropical tree native to tropical Mexico and Central America with glossy dark green leaves about 4” long. The tree yields the common, milky-white latex used to make of chewing gum. It can be tapped every other year and was used by the Mayans for gum. It blooms white flowers followed by a brownish fruit about 2-4.”
