A small to medium-sized deciduous tree with branches that are smooth and pale brown and bark that peels making this a multi- purpose plant perfect for a bonsai work of art as well as tropical use. Delicate yellow-white blossoms emerge making a stunning contrast to the green glossy leaves, followed by little fruits like grapes. These fruits are a delicacy in regions of India and Southeast Asia where the shrubs grow naturally. Incredibly high in nutrients and antioxidants. Blooms April through September. Named after Nehemiah Grew (1641-1712), one of the founders of plant physiology. Thrives in subtropical climates. Grows best when planted in rich soil and given adequate water and is placed in full sunlight, or light shade. Great for container gardening for tropical culture or the deck growing to about 6-8 feet in its natural environment. This is a tropical plant - NO frost
