An old favorite with the soft feel of green-gray velvety leaves and beautiful, large  purple trumpet-shaped flowers that open to brilliant white accenting purple stems about the time the moon is showing in the night sky. Flowers become whiter as the moon rises and the flowers mature.  Perfectly scented evening blooms will fill the air with sweetness! Under prime conditions the plant can grow up to 3 feet. Works well in pots or grow as an annual.  

Note: Datura flowers can vary greatly in precise color. As the flower opens, the inner petals may remain bright white, creating a beautiful contrast with the colored outer surface. The intensity and pattern of purple coloration can vary naturally between flowers and plants, influenced by genetics, flower development, soil acidity and growing conditions. Flowers can often be a solid outer purple to a more mottled color.
What affects the shade of purple?
Genetics: The most important factor. Different plants may inherit different amounts and combinations of pigments, resulting in lighter or darker purple flowers.
Temperature: Cool nights and changes in temperature can affect pigment development. Some flowers may appear more intensely colored under cooler conditions, while heat can contribute to paler shades.

This plant makes a most interesting deck plant and grows well as a container plant for several years if pruned and shaped, for the home or greenhouse, in addition to being a specimen plant. 
 
Treat as a tropical and cannot tolerate moderate frost.
