Calendula officinalis
Bright orange flowers make this plant the perfect accent to any annual or perennial flower garden. Feathery foliage grows to 1-2 feet.   The plant is very attractive to butterflies   Cannot tolerate frost so grow as an annual or container plant in colder regions. Calendulas are considered to be among the easiest and most versatile flowers to grow in a garden. In temperate climates, seeds are sown in spring for blooms that last throughout the summer and well into the fall. In warmer climates where frost is not common, seeds are sown in the fall for winter color. Plants may die back in subtropical summer heat. Sun or shady areas.  Calendula will grow up and bloom quickly from seed usually in two months.
