A traditional heirloom butterhead lettuce that grows tight 8 inch rosettes of loosely formed, soft, textured green tinted brown leaves. Perfect for smaller gardens. Doesnt get bitter even when weather is hot. Grows well in most areas of the US and is terrific for Spring and Fall plantings. Tolerates colder weather. Makes a good all season variety if protected from hard frosts. This variety can be sown in most locations from about March through August to harvest April to October for a nearly "year-round" harvest. In cold zones this lettuce can be grown in the greenhouse or under covers for overwintering for an early spring harvest.
